To accept yourself for who you are is a very common piece of advice, but few tell why it’s important to embrace your imperfections.
This is so because without accepting who you are at this moment, you cannot really progress.
You will be the one stopping yourself.
If you don’t accept yourself, you act as your own enemy.
I’m not saying that you must remain who you are today. But in order to make significant progress, you must be at peace with who you are.
If you don’t accept yourself, it’s the same as some friend or spouse always nagging you, but worse. You cannot perform at your peak level if you beat yourself up like that.
All of us are imperfect, and you will find that people who have more imperfections than you but accept them have a certain charm, a magnetism about them. That’s because they don’t disempower themselves. And you accept their imperfections, because they accept their own.
So be at peace with your faults, so that you don’t make yourself stumble. And this harmonious and free energy that you emanate when you’re not against yourself will help you make gradual changes in your personality, and to perfect yourself.
